The Atlanta Hawks waived guard Jamaal Tatum earlier this week. If anything is right in this world, he’ll get picked up by someone. Seriously. Jamaal Tatum is AWESOME and needs to be in the NBA.
According to the Rocky Mountain News, the Lakers might waive Coby Karl. It’s just a rumor at this point — I’ll keep you posted.
Coby Karl, son of Nuggets coach George Karl, was signed by the LA Lakers yesterday (you can see the press release here). Congrats to Coby, and best wishes for an awesome NBA career.
-The Phillies had their 10,000th loss tonight. Fortunately, Jose Mesa was not at fault. I’m adding the Phillies to the list of teams that aren’t my team but I still kind of like (see also Cubs, Angels, Marlins). They seem like a nice group of guys. I mentioned the tarp drama in my last post — it was pretty damn cool.
-The White Sox still have a crappy bullpen and kind of suck. Like a boyfriend who is kind of an asshole and not that cute, I should dump them but never will. I want it to get better. Couldn’t they get Manny Corpas or anyone else from the Rockies?
Gilbert Arenas updated his blog today, and said that he’s going to give away 6,000 autographed shoes and 20,000 autographed jerseys to the first people to sign up at Gil’s Arena. He is officially my favorite person in the entire world, and I hope I’m one of those first people.
The White Sox won! A.J. Pierzynski got hit by a pitch and walked in the winning run. Not that I want my guy A.J. to get hit by a pitch, but that’s just all kinds of awesome.
MLB Extra Innings is said to be offered on cable now, although it hasn’t come up on my Comcast guide yet.
Coby Karl’s surgery was successful and he’s reportedly doing well. The Nuggets have been playing like I knew they could and kicking serious ass.
Denver Nuggets coach George Karl’s 23-year-old son Coby will have surgery to remove cancerous lymph nodes on April 2. Coby, who was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma (a treatable form of cancer), previously had his thyroid removed and underwent chemotherapy. Coby Karl is a senior at Boise State University, where he played guard for the Western Athletic Conference Broncos. He lead the team in points per game, minutes per game, and assists, and is scheduled to play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Star game on March 31.
Word on the street in Denver is that Coby Karl should go in the second round of the NBA draft.
The Nuggets beat the New Jersey Nets tonight, 94-90.
