The problem with doing your bracket on a day you’re not drinking is that it ends up being pretty conservative. I really want to put VCU in the Final Four but just can’t make it happen. Oh well. Enjoy, if you’re into that sort of thing. And if you’re not, I might be back with something substantive tomorrow. Woohoo!
In other news, if I had a kid who was in college, I’d want him to be Kelly Olynyk. How cute is he, his hair, and his headband?
I’m not gonna lie. That “One Shining Moment” montage they play after every NCAA basketball championship game doesn’t make me, like, outright cry, but it brings a tear to my eye every time. I’m not even (very) embarrassed to admit this.
As we get ready for tonight’s game, which, frankly, I don’t care all that much about (I picked North Carolina to win, oops — guess I’m going with Kentucky, even though they’re the favorite, because I’m sick of Kansas), let’s take a moment to remember last year last year’s shining moments, complete with my favorite NBA rookie, Kenneth Faried.
I did my 2011 bracket (you can get it here — sorry, it’s a pdf). It’s more conservative than I’d like, but I’m having a hard time changing any picks. That said, I reserve the right to make changes before picks lock (I’ll let you know if I do that). Update: I did that! The new post is here.
